“From day one my son was a happy, loving and caring person. He always loved to cuddle and snuggle and still does to this day. This was expected, because my family comes from a long line of overly affectionate people who say “I love you” about a thousand times a day.
Since he was born, my husband and I have said we loved him every single day, multiple times a day. I always wondered when he would say it back and couldn’t wait until the day I heard “I love you too” or “I love you mommy”.
As he grew he began babbling and making sounds and even saying words. As he got older, we noticed that he wasn’t saying a lot of sentences and had trouble putting words together. My husband and I decided to look into speech therapy and that has been a great experience.
My son has progressed so much it amazes us, and we are so proud of the young boy he is. I will never forget the day when we were in the car and I said to him, “I love you” and he said “I love you too”. It was one of my happiest days! Everyday he says it now is still so special! I think back to when I wondered if he would ever be able to say these beautiful words and it makes my heart happy everyday”.
