“When we started our journey in private speech therapy 4 years ago we were not sure if our daughter would ever be able to communicate effectively. In the last couple of years she has made tremendous progress because of all of her hard work with Andrea. I remember I always said that all I want is for her to be able to communicate enough to live a happy life, share her thoughts and needs, have friends and grow up and have a job she enjoys. Recently we often have people compliment us about her progress and it gets me every time.  I have commented to my husband on many occasions about how I feel we missed so much during those years that she could not communicate verbally.  The simple things that people can take for granted: a child’s opinions, things they have done, how they feel, what they want or need are the things I am most grateful for”.
